Born in London, Rupert is an award winning composer and producer of music for TV, film and advertising. His songs and instrumental music are regularly placed on TV shows across the globe including CSI, American Idol, The Vampire Diaries, Friends: The Reunion and Ozark.
He has also had his music placed in many advertisements for brands such as Mercedes, BMW, VW, Ford, Nokia, Virgin Atlantic, L’Oreal, Vodafone and Estee Lauder and used in trailers for film and TV including Les Misérables, Early Man, Downton Abbey and A Little Life.
Following a classical upbringing, Rupert cut his musical teeth at sound developers Zero-G where he worked on sample libraries such as Jungle Warfare and composed content for the ground-breaking DJ game “Mixman” using the sounds of Heaven 17 and KKlass to create interactive tracks.
Rupert then joined Extreme Music, initially as producer for Thomas Dolby’s Beatnik platform and then as mastering engineer for their growing catalogue. During his time at Extreme he worked on music ranging from Hans Zimmer and John Powell through to Quincy Jones and the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra and also found time to work on his own compositions.
In 2007 Rupert co-founded Fuze Music, composing bespoke music for commercials and other media and in 2009 Headlock Music was formed as a specialist dance music library.
Now working from his studio in Dorset, Rupert continues to compose original songs for TV and film leading to recent syncs in Netflix shows such as Tiny Pretty Things, Cobra Kai, Wellmania, 13 Reasons Why, Hard Cell and Dead To Me.
He has been a finalist at the Music and Sound Awards 4 times and has won 3 Production Music Awards, most recently in 2022 & 2023.
